The UAVNZ industry association has got some real momentum now!
UAVNZ is supporting members by releasing two useful tools: a risk assessment and privacy guidelines.
Shaun Mitchell, UAVNZ Chair, explains "the standard risk assessment template was designed to help UAVNZ members carry out safe and efficient operations in accordance with Civil Aviation Rules." UAVNZ advised the template was adapted from an approved Part 102 procedures manual, developed in line with AC102-1 and in association with a Part 141 RPAS training organisation. UAVNZ Part 101 operators can also use this template to develop their own company-specific procedures.
And in response to the industry survey organised by UAVNZ in 2015, UAVNZ has developed, in conjunction with the Privacy Commission, a set of guidelines that members can use to demonstrate care and protection of private information. The guideline references the Privacy Act and provides advice for all UAVNZ Members and Associate Members to develop operational and business processes.
UAVNZ exists to maximise the benefits from UAV technologies and develop a world-class UAV industry in New Zealand by:
- Connecting: suppliers and customers, hosting forums and networking events
- Promoting: UAV companies and services, the benefits of UAV technology, and safe and professional operating practice
- Supporting: companies by providing templates and standards, engaging with CAA and the wider aviation industry
